Mrs Callendar is passionate about helping the black community succeed and believes in the transformative power of generational wealth. In 2021, she co-founded the Federation of African Canadian Economics (FACE). A Black-led non-profit organization focused on accelerating wealth creation for Canadians of African descent that is working with the federal government to co-develop and administer the $ 162 million Black Entrepreneurship Loan Fund. As a community developer and social entrepreneur, She has spent decades developing and implementing programs to support Canada’s Black community. In 2022, she was named as a recipient of the 2022 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards for the ‘Ones to Watch’ award. She is ranked amongst the 100 most influential Black Canadians by Afroglobal television and has been recognized by MIPAD, as one of the 100 most influential persons of African-descent under 40, in 2020.
